**The Opportunity**
We have a vacancy for a **Commercial Assistant** to join our commercial team based in
**Blackburn.** As a Commercial Assistant at Vital Energi you will work closely with Quantity
Surveyors to manage key commercial activities across our Metering and Billing contract portfolio.
**The Role**
Reporting to the Commercial Manager you will be responsible for:
- Reviewing of contract documentation on receipt from Client to ensure compatibility with the company’s tender and subsequent negotiations
- Preparation and issue of enquiries for equipment and materials. Reviewing quotations commercially to negotiate price and terms with suppliers.
- Issuing of Purchase Orders.
- Measuring, submitting and agreeing variations and/or compensation events in accordance with contractual provisions to facilitate prompt agreement of final accounts
- Monitoring of on-site record keeping.
- Preparing and submittal of monthly cost value reconciliations and cash/spend profiles for discussion at contract review meetings
- Authorisation and coding of supplier and sub-contractor invoices and submission to finance for payment
- Measurement, certification and agreement of Sub-Contractors interim valuations and final accounts.
- Assisting the Commercial Manager and Senior Quantity Surveyors in the production of monthly contract reviews
**The Person**
**Qualifications**
- 5 GCSE passes (grade A to C) including Maths and English (or equivalent).
- Minimum qualified to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a finance or business related discipline.
**Experience**
- Demonstrable experience of working in a commercial team or finance team at a junior level
- Experience in a purchase ledger role would be advantageous
**Competencies**
- Experience of working both independently and in a collaborative team environment
- Good organisational skills with the ability to use initiative and prioritise workload
- Confident manner, with ability to work to deadlines, whilst remaining focussed
- Good Oral and Written Communication Skills
- A high level of confidentiality, tact and diplomacy
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft software packages including, Excel, Word,
- Outlook and Powerpoint
- A full UK driving licence
**The Package**

- Salary up to £26,000 per annum (dependent upon experience)
