We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated Curriculum Leader for Computing and Business to join our team at St Michael’s Church of England High School. This is a permanent, full time role starting Easter 2023.

This an exciting opportunity for a strong classroom teacher with a proven track record for academic success and curriculum innovation. You will take responsibility for the delivery of the Computing and Business curricula at key stages 3, 4 and 5 and lead on all aspects of curriculum design, teaching and assessment. You should have experience of teaching Computer Science at GCSE and preferably at A level.
- Be responsible for implementing appropriate Curriculum Plans including long term and medium term plans and reviewing/updating these regularly.
- Ensure that the Computing and Business curricula are implemented successfully with the development of high quality resources.
- Develop and implement strategies to raise achievement at all levels.
- Lead, inspire and motivate the Computing and Business team to achieve aspirational outcomes.
- Be a highly visible presence around the school and role model high standards of professional behaviour and challenge poor performance.
- Prepare, implement and evaluate an annual Department Improvement Plan.
- Quality assure the performance of the Computing and Business team in line with School policy.
- Implement school strategies across the faculty to ensure high standards of behaviour and a conducive climate for learning.
- Ensure that teachers within the Computing and Business department consistently prepare and teach lessons that inspire and challenge all students to make good progress.
- Ensure consistently high standards of student work across the department.
- Ensure that the Computing and Business department regularly reviews its practice and keeps abreast of new developments within education.
- Develop and implement effective methods of assessment that are used within the Science department to track and record students’ progress in line with school policy.
- Be accountable for student achievement for Computing and Business across all key stages.
- Use data from assessments and examinations accurately and effectively to inform future teaching and intervention, as required.
- Develop and implement strategies to provide students with effective feedback that enables them to understand what they need to do to make further progress.
- Ensure all members of the Computing and Business department meet report and other deadlines.
