Filter-bay Operator

We are looking for a Filter-bay Operator to join our team at PPG. Please read on below for more information about the responsibilities and tasks you'll be involved in:

- Test resins for clarity and record results; retain samples.
- Clean, set up and strip down GAF and Sparkler filter units and presses as required.
- Clean thinning vessels, product distribution pipework and drum filling equipment.
- Routine quality testing of the contents of cleaning solvent sumps; Assist in emptying of sumps and refilling on clean solvent return.
- Ensure a constant supply of all services to the resin plant and ensure all equipment is operating correctly within defined parameters. Immediately reporting of any faults to the Engineering department
- Monitoring the plant effluent and adjusting when required all waste to ensure all effluent discharged meets Environment Agency and Anglian Water requirements.
- Involvement in all aspects of resin production as part of a shift team, by providing additional support as required to other plant operators. Provide cover for other operators over meal breaks and participate in shift handovers.
- Regularly check consumables and general items used on E Site
- To carry out plant isolations in preparation for maintenance work as required within work area
- Sustain high standards of housekeeping on E-site and actively participate in site BPI improvements.
- Complete worksheets ready to certify accordingly.
- Audit label requirements ready for production.
- Support the raw material controller in off-loading and movement of non-bulk raw materials as required including delivery counter signing and checks.
- Manage the filtration and loading of finished products for transport to both the IMP and Export
- 5S
- Carry out services checks
- Countersigning and second operator checks for bulk raw material deliveries and tanker loading for dispatch on site.
