Lancaster University’s Faculty of Health & Medicine wishes to appoint an Equality, Diversity and Inclusivity (EDI) Lead for the Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (DClinPsy). This post will work within the DClinPsy’s existing EDI initiatives and structures in delivering and evaluating sustainable change in terms of Health Education England’s “Action Plan to Improve Equity of Access and Inclusion for Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic Entrants to Clinical Psychology Training”. In addition, the work will involve improving equity of access and inclusion for other under-represented groups. The post holder will be employed by Lancaster University.

You will have experience of issues of structural racism and discrimination, including barriers to attainment for under-represented groups. You will be registered as a clinical psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council, and have experience of practising as a clinical psychologist in the UK. You will have a demonstrated ability to influence/take an effective leadership role and drive change, specifically in the area of inclusive practice. You will also have experience of working across multiple organisations to achieve change in the areas of equality, diversity and inclusion.

You will be expected to continue the development of lead an EDI programme to support action to improve equity and inclusion for Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic and other under-represented groups.

You will design and deliver a mentoring scheme for Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic aspiring Clinical Psychologists. In addition, you will design and implement an evaluation of the impact of the EDI programme in terms of increasing access to clinical psychology training for individuals from Black, Asian and Minority ethnic backgrounds and other under-represented groups, as well as ensuring equity of experience and attainment.
