360 Excavator Operator

Highland Holidays group owns and operates Hoilday Pasrks on the west coast of Scotland.

Our grounds draw on the natural beauty of the area and are extremely well maintained and curated.

An outdoor position has arisen within our Grounds team at Ben Nevis Holiday Park for a 360 Excavator Operator.

Moday to Friday work week.

You will be required to operate various excavators between 3 - 8 tonnes and a 22.5 tonne machine.

This is at times a stay away position and during the winter months will be based on the west coast of Scotland where **accomodation** and a van will be provided.

During the summer months you will be based in Central Scotland,Biggar where you will be tasked to do excavating work in Forrestry and Agriculture.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Assist in developing new caravan bases and various construction projects
- Perfprm daily maintenance and safety checks on equipment
- Adhere to all safety rergulations and company policies
- Maintain proper documentation, including work orders and other required paperwork
- Load and unload materials as needed
- Operate excavator in accordance with safety regulations and instructions from your line manager
- Dig trenches, holes or foundations, as well as grade land to prepare it for construction
- Backfill excavations
- Use rakes and hoes to level topsoil
- Smooth out rough areas on newly worked land
- Remove debris and other obstacles from construction site
- Keeping the machine clean and tidy
- Reporting of machine defects
- Keeping the working area safe and tidy as best possible

**Skills and Qualifications Required**

Valid certification to operate heavy machinery. CPCS (ticket)

Two tears experience as a Digger, Excavator Operator

Good communication skills to convey and explain any issues that may arise

Good understanding of safety procedures

Good Technical knowledge of excavators, be able to read and interpret technical manuals

Good Physical stamina to sustain prolonged periods of physical activity whilst displaying good levels of concentration

Problem solving skills are essential to identify and resolve issues that may arise during a task. You may need to find a way to complete a task that requires a specific tool that isn't available

**Preferred Skills**

It would be beneficial to have some experience with a Tilting Head attachment

**Salary**: £16.50 per hour
