Shire Healthcare are currently sourcing Speech and Language Therapists for permanent positions within mainstream schools, specialist schools and colleges in Surrey. The successful Speech and Language Therapist will be based in Woking and work in the community covering educational settings in Woking, Guildford and Waverley.

These are full-time positions at 36 hours per week although our client can also consider part-time applicants who can offer a minimum of 3 days per week. These are term-time only positions at 42 weeks per year plus 3 additional weeks of holiday working.

The role:

- Managing and prioritising a caseload of children and young people with speech, language and communication needs
- Working collaboratively with other professionals to ensure the best outcomes for pupils.
- Conducting assessments to identify speech, language and communication needs.
- Planning, delivering and evaluating individualised therapy programmes.
- Measuring pupil progress through educational outcomes and therapy specific measuring tools
- Providing support and, in some cases, line management to junior therapists and assistants

The ideal Speech and Language Therapist:

- Holds a relevant Degree/Diploma in Speech and Language Therapy.
- HCPC registered.
- Registered member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists
- Post-graduate experience of supporting children and young people with speech, language and communication needs.
- Completed post-graduate training.
