Quality Assurance Supervisor

Bedford based covering 2 sites so transport required

£39,000 plus benefits

Mon-Fri 9am-5.30pm

**Reporting to**:Quality Assurance and Food Safety (QAFS)/ Technical Manager

**Main duties and responsibilities**
- To ensure that sites are audit ready at all times by promoting a strong food safety culture across all sites of the business.
- To supervise and manage the quality function daily, in order to achieve compliance with BRCGS, legislation and agreed customer requirements.
- Responsible for the implementation and adherence of all policies and procedures that form the Quality Management System. Ensuring that the quality system is consistently followed in practice.
- Support the QAFS/ Technical Manager in ensuring all legal requirements are met in compliance to food safety, legislation, the BRC Standard and Customer Codes of Practice.
- To manage objectives set by the QAFS/ Technical Manager to ensure completion within agreed timescales

**Primary Responsibilities**
- Line Manager for a team of Quality Auditors and Quality Controllers. Total 10 direct reports.
- Ensure processes and procedures are followed and that records are kept readily available to satisfy both internal and external audits.
- The Non-conformance process from raising, actioning and completion
- The scheduled sampling for internal and external microbiological analysis
- Samples for Head office
- Scheduled QA audits and verification planning
- GMP Audit review and trending
- CCP verification
- The retention of samples
- Product hold review and assigning to relevant stream
- The raising and issuing of customer certificates of analysis
- Provide documentation control for traceability exercises
- Manage the positive release of microbiological requirements for certain customers.
- Reporting on KPIs to enable management commitment.
- Preparing for and attend the daily production meeting. Raise any outstanding
- Troubleshoot and resolve food safety and product quality problems by following RCA approach
- Ensure sufficient stock level of lab supplies and equipment. Purchase order creation on IFS
- Annual review of SOP’s
- Align Laboratory test methods and procedures as per corporate procedures, goals and objectives
- Monthly performance report to Line Manager

**Qualifications and Experience**:

- Recent Minimum 2 years’ experience in the Quality Assurance Department
- Understanding of the audit process, and experience of auditing.
- Experience of participating in customer and BRC audits.
- Intermediate HACCP qualification.
- Intermediate Food Safety Qualification.

- Escalates incidents appropriately when support is required.
