Our House Guides bring the history of Longleat House to life, transporting our guests back in time as they take in the Elizabethan architecture and the and the spectacular 19th century interiors. Our guides will provide enchanting and informative tours, visiting the magnificent state rooms, the impressive great hall and the ornate bedrooms, immersing our guests into 450 years of history.
**What will this role entail?**
Reporting to the House Guide Supervisor, you will be responsible for providing a historical experience for guests visiting Longleat House, delivering high quality, informative and timely guided tours to groups, in accordance with daily tour schedules.
Key duties will include:
- To deliver a variety of first class engaging guided tours throughout Longleat House, providing an exceptional guest experience and helping to bring the House and its stories to life.
- To learn tour content to high standard, and continually develop wider House knowledge to provide guests with detailed information covering 450 of Longleat history.
- Welcoming guests at the designated meeting point and ensuring your tour group is able to leave the house in a timely manner at the end of the tour.
- Be willing and able to deliver a range of tours, including exclusive VIP tours.
**What will I need to be considered for this vacancy?**
- Minimum GCSE English & Maths grade C
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Ability to memorise large volume of facts
- Confidence to deliver engaging group tours on solo basis
- Excellent customer service skills
- Full training will be provided, however you must have a genuine interest in history.

This is a permanent contract working a minimum of 156 hours across a three month period, with working hours to vary over a 7 day rota basis, including weekends, evening and bank holidays as required. Earliest start time from 8am, and latest finish time up to 8pm, varying in accordance with opening times.
