**_Would you like to be a part of a newly established Homebirth team that uses Midwifery passion and expertise to facilitate women’s and birthing people’s personalised choice, by promoting high quality safe care.._**
We are looking for motivated and enthusiastic band 6 Midwives to support our re-launched homebirth service. The role will be to become part of a dedicated homebirth team, providing care through the antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal period. We need individuals that have a passion for individualised care and supporting choice. You will have excellent communication skills to enable the planning and implementation of individualised midwifery led care in partnership with the wider multidisciplinary team. As a successful post holder, you will be required to continually provide holistic risk assessments for those choosing to birth at home, to ensure their medical, psychological and social needs are met.
This new dedicated Homebirth team will provide 24/7 cover by undertaking a mixture of day and night shifts to enable us to operate a full homebirth service. Before commencing in post, you will be supported by experienced Midwives with an orientation packages that is bespoke to your individual needs. You must have the flexibility to attend community clinics and provide care in the home setting. A full driving licence is required with access to a car.
Main duties of the job
- To provide safe, evidenced based and personalised care to women and birthing people throughout their pregnancy, birth and postnatal journey
- To promote and facilitate choice to those wishing to birth at home
- To continually undertake holistic risk assessments to support the delivery of appropriate care
- To work in partnership with the wider multidisciplinary team, enabling coordinated care and where necessary appropriate referrals.
- To actively contribute to the reduction in health inequalities by supporting a service that is accessible to all.
- To effectively manage all aspects of the care provided within the community setting, including intrapartum care at home.

- To provide safe, research based midwifery care to women and their families within their area of responsibility in a variety of settings
- Recognising deviations from normality and refer appropriately to medical or other agencie
- To maintain an up to date knowledge of current research and trends in midwifery care, contribute to the development and delivery of evidence based practices, policies and guidelines for maternity services
- Empower women to make an informed choice and act as their advocate at all times. To improve their experience of childbirth offering a choice of place of birth and working in partnership when making decisions about care.
