Speciality Clinical Educator

An opportunity has arisen has arisen for a Band 7 Mental Health Specialty Clinical Educator within our dedicated community mental health team who work into nursing and residential homes in North Tyneside. The team base is within the Community Mental Health team at North Tyneside General Hospital.
This is a part time post at 0.6 WTE (22.5 hours a week) fixed term for a year.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated clinician who can demonstrate the ability to lead and motivate staff.
You will be a team player with established skills in communication, organisation and with clinical management experience. You will have the ability to engage clinically with all members of the multi-disciplinary team. You will have in depth proven clinical knowledge and skills in caring for patients as well as working with the values of Northumbria Healthcare Trust guiding the nursing team to work within this framework. You will be expected to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, along with the ability to sensitively manage change.
Working as a core member of the team you will have responsibility for the overall continuing workforce development of staff within the specialty. You will lead on the non-statutory and mandatory training needs within your speciality area. You will be responsible for the production and delivery of a training needs analysis plan in line with existing national guidance where relevant. You will be responsible for making regular assessments and recommendations based on these needs and guidelines.
You will act as a clinical and professional role model to maintain and develop exceptional standards of clinical care. You will promote and foster a culture of education and clinical development within the workforce. You will uphold high standards of practice development and clinical supervision.

To role model compassionate and inclusive leadership in order to shape the creation of a collective leadership culture within the trust. This means demonstrating a consistent leadership style which (a) engages, enables and empowers others (b) uses coaching to promote ownership of learning and quality improvement and (c) facilitates team working and collaboration within teams / departments and across organisational boundaries.
We manage three major locality hospitals at North Tyneside, Wansbeck and Hexham, plus a number of smaller community hospitals and clinics from Tynemouth to Berwick on Tweed, in addition to our state-of-the-art Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital, the first of its kind in England. We also care for people in their homes and provide services from facilities in local communities such as health centres. We give people greater choice and control over their care to help them to live independently at home and avoid hospital admission where appropriate. Contribute to a climate where staff appropriately question and challenge practice and where decision-making can be openly debated and discussed.
Develop and maintain effective links with other educators both internal and external to the organisation.
Must be able to demonstrate the English language proficiency level required for this post.
Ability to set realistic targets and meet deadlines.
Effectively plans and delivers a range of complex projects, educational programs and assessments and adjust to the needs of the trust.
Effectively use evaluations to adjust educational programme, content and delivery.
