**Education Finance Officer**

Are you an experienced finance professional looking for an exciting opportunity in Totnes?

We have a fantastic opportunity for an Education Finance Officer at 'ESE,' particularly focused on College. The role offers a competitive salary of £28-30k per year.

**Responsibilities**:

- Manage day-to-day financial transactions for College, including tuition fees, bursaries, invoicing, and purchases.
- Keep accurate costing records for students, ensuring compliance with EHC plans and contractual obligations.
- Act as the main point of contact for Central Finance Team and Local Authorities or other funders.
- Liaise with Education Managers to maintain accurate records and invoicing for students with funders.
- Secure Purchase Orders (PO) to confirm Local Authorities or funders' approval of student costings.
- Maintain correct student activity records on the student database (Databridge).
- Regularly reconcile invoiced student numbers with ILR data returned to ESFA.
- Update the monthly projected income schedule for assessing accrued and deferred income.
- Ensure efficient financial administrative arrangements and procedures are in place and followed.
- Administer disbursement of hardship and student support funding, as well as capital grants and expenditure.
- Archive financial records according to established practice.

**General Responsibilities**:

- Multi-task effectively with minimum supervision.
- Comply with policies and procedures related to child protection, health and safety, confidentiality, and data protection.
- Maintain confidentiality of all College matters.
- Contribute to the overall ethos, aims, and values of the College.
- Communicate effectively with other agencies and professionals as required.
- Maintain all relevant logs, records, and filing systems for College.
- Attend appropriate training courses.

**Qualifications and Experience**:

- AAT intermediate, NVQ 3 Business and Administration, or equivalent qualification or experience.
- Office environment experience.
- Proficiency in MS Excel.

**Person Specification**:

- Excellent planning and administrative system development skills.
- Methodical with good attention to detail.
- Strong communication and organizational abilities.
- Effective prioritization skills.
- Willingness to undergo required training, sometimes off-site and outside normal working hours.
- Ability to travel between locations in the South of England as needed.
- Self-driven with a keen eye for detail and initiative.
