We are excited to offer an opportunity to join our Award Winning Under 18’s Crisis Service as an Assistant Psychologist supporting young people and their families across Norfolk and Waveney.
This role is peripatetic and means you will occasionally be required to travel between our sites so being able to travel independently is essential. We have bases in East, Central and West Norfolk.
The CAIST (Crisis, Assessment & Intensive Support Team) service is a vibrant and dynamic service that has 3 teams based across Norfolk & Waveney and currently offers an 08.00 to 20.00 service, 7 days a week.
The team offers community based intensive support to children, young people & their families. CAIST aim to establish trusting therapeutic relationships, to reduce risks when children & young people may be experiencing high levels of distress. We work hard to help them avoid hospital admission, and when required, to expedite safe and effective discharge. All caseloads are team held.

The role will support and enhance the professional psychological care of patients within the directorate, across all aspects of care; providing psychological assessment and psychological interventions under the supervision of a qualified clinical psychologist, working independently according to a plan agreed with a qualified clinical psychologist and within the overall framework of the teams’ policies and procedures. To assist in clinically related administration, teaching and project work.
To take part in research; to collect, input and analyse routine data and to report this to clinical teams, managers and others; to liaise with clinical teams across the directorate.
