Our client is a global leader in the manufacture of advanced materials widely used in the space, defence and commercial aerospace sector. Due to growth across their UK operation, they are currently looking for additional support within their Quality Assuranceteam.

The Quality Engineer role is a hands-on position requiring daily interaction with all areas of the business, in particular Operations. Most of the time you'll be working Mon - Fri, approximately 40 hours per week based on typical office hours, however thesite operates 24/7 so a measure of flexibility will sometimes be required.

The expected salary range for the role is £28,000 - £30,000 per annum.

In addition to that, the company offers a great range of benefits such as a bonus scheme, 33 days a year annual leave, medical/dental scheme and pension scheme to name a few, along with the opportunity to further develop your professional career.

**Key responsibilities**:

- Working to resolve Quality issues, identify and introduce containment actions to support and maintain build quality
- Root cause analysis to ensure robust fixes for Quality issues and identify corrective and preventive actions to prevent reoccurrence, improve schedule adherence and reduce internal waste
- 8D problem solving to reduce customer complaints
- Adherence to and maintenance of Quality Management System (QMS)
- Supporting with external certification agency and customer audits
- Training and developing operational personnel in good quality practices
- Interpretation of customer quality specifications, manufacturing specifications and other customer requirements
- Continuous Improvement activities
- Caretaking of own and others Health & Safety

**K ey skills and experience we're looking for are**:

- HNC or above in an Engineering Subject and/or Automotive or similar industry experience in a Quality role.
- Experience of using Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel.
- Knowledge of PPAP / APQP / FMEA / Lean Thinking Principles and ISO 9001 / IATF16949 / AS9100 standards.
- Understand a wide range of Manufacturing Processes.
- Time and workload management skills, excellent organisational abilities, communication, and people skills.
- Excellent attention to detail, with a methodical and logical approach to work, and adaptable within a rapidly changing environment.
- Ability to work alone or as part of a team, with a positive attitude towards problem solving
- Understanding of Health & Safety requirements within a manufacturing environment.
