WorkwithSchools is now hiring a Site Operative or Caretaker to work in a highly regarded, Ofsted 'outstanding' secondary school based in the centre of York.
This is a full-time, permanent role that involves working 37 hours a week, Monday to Friday.
The annual salary on offer is £22,777 - £24,054 and this is an excellent opportunity for a suitably experienced caretaking professional to join a friendly team delivering effective estates and facilities management services.
**Responsibilities include**:
- Completion of all site-based duties including weekly compliance activities
- General maintenance
- Painting and decorating
- Minor refurbishment works
- Porterage
- Key holding
- Travelling between sites when required.
**You will need**:
- Willingness to complete all training courses associated with the role annually and develop skills when required.
- A relevant facilities management or site management qualification.
- Awareness of Health and Safety legislation.
- Experience of completing work activities in accordance with Risk Assessments, processes and procedures.
- A “can do” attitude and have the ability to work as part of a team as well as on your own.
- Proficiency using ICT equipment including PC, tablet or mobile devices.
- Supervisory skills for example effectively monitoring contractor’s performance onsite.
- Good communication skills and interpersonal skills for interacting with staff members, children and contractors.
Please note, for this role you must be suitable to work with children/young people and either have an Enhanced DBS or be willing to provide one.
All applicants must also be eligible to work in the UK, hold a clean UK driving licence and be willing to drive a Trust vehicle when required to do so.
