Ramsgate, United Kingdom Management & Training Corporation (MTC) Full time

Within the role you will be working in an environment that provides an empathetic, caring, trauma-informed security and escorting service for asylum seekers who have only recently arrived in the UK. You will be responsible for the welfare and safety of the individuals whilst they are going through the Home Office immigration processes.

**Here’s what you need to know about the role**:
Direct experience of working as a DCO is not necessary; we are looking for individuals who are passionate about the same goals and values we hold as an organisation...to join our mission of empowering people to make positive life choices and help to transform lives.

Full training will be provided, so all we ask is that applicants have a supportive, empathetic, reassuring approach to working with vulnerable individuals. People who are kind, compassionate, adaptable to changing needs and priorities and have great communication skills.

If you are successful in the recruitment process, your role will also involve completing a 5-week initial training course which includes de-escalation and Control & Restraint training. You would need to be prepared to physically restrain someone in detention, if there is an immediate threat.

**These roles are permanent, full-time positions. The site operates 24/7, so contracts are based on an average working week of 42 hours on a rolling shift pattern - including days, nights and some weekends.**

In return for your hard work and dedication, we offer a starting salary to our 'Trainee' Detention Custody Officers of £30,063, increasing to £31566.66 per annum on a 42-hour per week contract after training and clearance have been obtained. We also offer a great range of benefits which includes (but are not limited to):

- Company pension up to 10%
- Cycle to work scheme
- Life assurance
- Enhanced annual leave scheme
- Wellbeing day
- Enhanced Maternity & Paternity
- Mentor programmes
- Please note MTC are working with Seetec Recruitment Solutions in recruiting for this position and therefore Jess or Julie from the Seetec team will contact all applicants in due course._

We focus on transforming lives and making a difference through education, training and employment (ETE).

Building on the successes of MTC in the US, by providing opportunities to change for individuals in danger of entering, or already in the criminal justice system. With our support, they’re able to transform their lives, turning away from crime to become stronger, more positive members of their community. Building on our experience in custody and probation by winning bids, we’ll bring our ETE-led focus and commitment to delivering the right services in the right ways to these prisons. We’re working to enter the education market to help individuals drive positive change in their lives and unlock their potential.

We need people who have the necessary skills and knowledge alongside a passion to create real change.
