We are currently working closely with a fabulous SEN specialist primary school based in Acton. The school is primarily for children with Autism, Challenging Behaviour, and SEMH. Some pupils are non verbal and others may have selective mutisim. There are no personal care requirements in this SEN Teaching Assistant role.

The school are looking to appoint a pro-active, hard-working, kind and passionate SEN Teaching Assistant to be based across a mix of different KS2 year groups. As the classes are relatively small, being comfortable leading small groups or supporting on a 121 basis is important. Most of the pupils within this school have a diagnosis of Autisim, so patience and understanding are really important qualities to have in this SEN Teaching Assistant position.

**What are you expected to do?**
- Supporting pupils in the classroom and on outdoor activities.
- Participating and engaging in school trips and other extra-curricular activities
- Managing behavior, being patient, sympathetic, understanding, and having a kind and caring nature.
- Assisting the class teacher with planning, preparing, and delivering learning activities, as well as monitoring and assessing children’s achievement and progress.
- Working closely with the school's multi-disciplinary team and parents/ family members/ carers
- Actively getting involved in a wide range of activities, promoting the physical, cognitive, cultural, social, and emotional well-being of the pupils
- Actively interacting with children through play-based and sensory-related activities
- Partaking in necessary training and being willing to adapt teaching methods per pupil.

**Requirements for SEN Teaching Assistant**
- Having a passion for SEN and building strong relationships with pupils from all different backgrounds.
- Empathy, patience, determination, hardworking, a good sense of humor and strong behaviour management skills.
- Experience in youth work setting or supporting vulnerable children (does not have to be in a school setting)
- A positive, proactive, and patient individual who has a can-do attitude and is willing to learn
- A team player and has great communication skills
- Good timekeeping, available Monday - Friday, Term Time Only
