**About the job**: Reporting to the Health, Safety & Environment Manager you will support the work of the Health, Safety and Environment team by providing health and safety advice to the business and administering the implementation of our health and safety policies and procedures.
- With day-to-day responsibility for the East Grinstead offices, you will monitor the performance of the Club’s operations and also manage the Club’s accident reporting system, investigating accidents and incidents as necessary. Working with other members of the team, you will administer the occupational health surveillance programmes. You will contribute to the efforts of the Health, Safety & Environment team and engage with other parts of the business to ensure that our risk control systems reduce risks and protect people.**Key Tasks/Accountabilities**:

- To provide advice and assistance to the business in the implementation of the Club’s health and safety policies and procedures and its risk control systems.
- To conduct and develop new risk assessments across the Club’s operations.
- To assist in the development of the Club’s risk control systems in accordance with law and good practice.
- To assist the Health, Safety & Environment Manager to develop the Club’s health and safety management system and drive improvements in our safety culture.
- To participate in H&S Forum meetings and other meetings as required.
- To manage the day to day running of the Club’s occupational health surveillance programmes for hearing and HAVS.
- To maintain the HSE reporting dashboard for senior management and assist in its ongoing development.
- To assist the Facilities Manager in their efforts to manage health, safety and environment at the Club’s offices in East Grinstead.
- To manage the day to day running of the online accident and incident reporting and recording system, including the online submission of RIDDOR reports.
- To investigate accidents and incidents and gather information from investigations carried out by other members of the HSE team. To contribute to the identification of gaps in risk control systems and/or breaches of Health and Safety regulations.
- To provide reporting and statistical analysis on accidents and incidents to the directors, the executive committee and managers across the business.
- To prepare reports in the event of any solicitor’s claim, enforcing body investigation or prosecution.
- To engage with internal colleagues and external stakeholders to drive safety standards in order to influence managers and negotiate improvements.
- To work alongside the Health, Safety & Environment Administrator to ensure the efficient running of Health, Safety and Environment systems.
- To carry out any other Health and Safety duties and investigations as directed by the Health, Safety & Environment Manager.
- The role of Health, Safety & Environment Officer may have access to Restricted and Confidential member, worker, volunteer and/or Club business data. This information must only be collected and processed in line with all regulations from the FCA (Financial Conduct Authority), the Data Protection Act, GDPR and all Caravan and Motorhome Club policies and procedures. All types of data held by the Club are valuable and must be protected.

Essential Skills & Experience Required:

- Previous experience in occupational health and safety in a full-time role, preferably in a multi-site business.
- National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety, coupled with evidence of continuous professional development through IOSH, or their equivalent.
- Competent in providing a professional health and safety advisory service to the business.
- Able to plan and work independently and be able to make practical operational decisions.
- Ability to build relationships and influence internal and external stakeholders and negotiate improvements.
- Ability to carry out performance monitoring, including inspections, auditing and accident investigations at the Club’s main offices in East Grinstead.
- Ability to administrate occupational health surveillance programmes, particularly hearing and hand-arm vibration syndrome.
- Ability to keep up to date with changes in legislation and industry best practice
- Full driving licence and ability to travel around the UK occasionally with some overnight stays.

Desirable Skills & Experience
- Understanding of regulatory requirements for the control of food hygiene, fire, Legionella, asbestos, PUWE and passenger lifts.
- Previous experience of safety within a multi-site tour operator/ travel provider or leisure provider.
- Professional status of Tech IOSH or its equivalent as a minimum.
- NEBOSH Diploma part 1.
