Health & Safety Project Lead

To provide a strategic lead to the Trust in ensuring the delivery of a comprehensive first class Health and Safety service throughout the organisation, and to act as the competent person for health and safety.
To promote leadership and ownership of Health and Safety management throughout the organisation to ensure that risks are managed as an integral part of Health and Safety management.
Using expert Health and Safety knowledge, the post-holder is responsible for advising managers, representatives and colleagues on any/all issues relating to health and safety at work, and for the development, delivery and co-ordination of health and safety training for colleagues.
To provide sources of assurance on Health and Safety and the wider compliance agenda for the Trust including providing data for reports and arms-length bodies.
Develop, review and update the Health and Safety structure, policies and
supporting procedures at Trust level and monitor corporate and divisional compliance.
Review and assess the implications for the Trust of new and revised Health and Safety legislation, codes of practice and complex professional guidance. Formulate supporting strategies and advise the Executive Director of People and OD.
Provide advice and support to managers responsible for the risk assessment of work activities, in carrying out the assessments, identifying control measures and deciding priorities. To assist in the identification of corporate risk
