**Service**
CHANCE is a Family Residential Assessment Centre based in Southeast London. We offer placements for up to 4 families. Our focus is safeguarding Children & Babies whilst monitoring & assessing their parents care skills. We support families who have experienced DV, Mental Health, Additional Needs, CSE victims & much more. It is our duty to be confident that parents, despite their past challenges are capable of caring adequately for their children.
**Job Purpose**
- To supervise and motivate the family centre's management consistent with the centre's approach and ethos and to represent the centre at a strategic level.
- Be the point of contact between the centre and Ofsted and ensure the service is fully compliant with legislation, regulatory and good practice requirements, including The Residential Family Centres Regulations 2002 (amended) 2013 and Residential Family Centres National Minimum Standards and the social care common inspection framework (SCCIF).
- Ensure the operation of equality and diversity practice in the local commissioning and delivery of services.
- Ensure that the centre is managed and maintained to promote the safety and well-being of children and families placed for assessment.
- Ensure services operate within legal frameworks and according to the centre's policies and procedures.
**General Duties**
- Have responsibility for overseeing and supervising the leadership and management of the family centre.
- Ensure implementation of statutory and centre policies and provide feedback to the directors on the effectiveness of policies.
- Act as a point of contact with Ofsted and ensure the compliance requirements of the centre are actioned and outcomes delivered and measured.
- Review performance outcomes and customer feedback to meet customer requirements and increase operational efficiency and effectiveness.
- Resolve complex operational and service-based problems and conflicts raised through the centre's day-to-day operations, complaints, and HR processes.
- Prepare monitoring reports, statistical data, and evaluations in accordance with the policies of the centre.
- Ensure financial resources and income streams are optimised to deliver services fit for purpose and deliver outcomes on time, to budget and to the quality standard required.
- Recruit and review the performance of the manager and team members.
- Ensure the management team meets the company's objectives and maintains information informing operational decision-making.
- Build professional relationships with stakeholders.
- Ensure the centre operates in line with Working Together to Safeguard Children requirements for safeguarding and protecting children and families.
- To be actively aware of the centre’s strengths and areas for development.
- To be ambitious for the centre and have high expectations of staff and parents.
- To prioritise the needs of children and families.
- Ensure the team are committed to achieving the best outcomes for children and offer excellent support.
- Ensure that parenting assessments are comprehensive and focus on protecting children from harm and neglect.
- Ensure that the manager and the team use self-reflection as a tool and that incidents in the centre are evaluated including opportunities for lessons learned.
- Support the manager to ensure that there is suitable investment in the staff team through regular reflective supervision and training opportunities and plans that enable their professional development.
**Specific Duties**
**Service Delivery**:
- Ensure the service meets the needs of children and families in accordance with legislation, policy, and best practice.
- Provide formal and informal supervision to the centre manager and others as necessary to improve the centre's performance.
- Take responsibility for the management oversight of safeguarding children, risk, and service governance.
- Ensure the centre is led and managed in such a way as to be consistent with the company approach and ethos and deliver the outcomes set out in the statement of purpose.
- Ensure children and families have access to services that meet their assessment requirements and children's well-being.
- Ensure the family centre is fully prepared and ready for Ofsted inspection.
- Ensure the centre meets the needs of residents from a diverse range of backgrounds.
