CNC Operator

There is a vacancy in our company for a 5-axis CNC operator. Experience preferred, but trainees with the appropriate aptitude are encouraged to apply.

We are a manufacturing company based in Darwen, Lancashire, involved with some of the UKs leading specialist vehicle manufacturers (buses, ambulances, fire-engines etc). We design and supply plastic vacuum formed trims and components to these and other industries throughout the UK.

Prior CNC experience would, of course, be an advantage, but there is a trainee opportunity and is open to anyone with potential too.

The ability to read technical drawings is a requirement and if you have prior manufacturing experience and are familiar with common inspection equipment, that too would be an advantage.

On the job training will be given and you will be expected to gain a mechanical understanding of machine operation, the practice of cutter (tool) selection/setting and product inspection.

Initial activity will involve running one of our 5-axis machines and as experience and confidence grows, this will expand to setting up and programme editing.

In addition to normal working hours, overtime is often available.
