My client, a company responsible for marketing and sales within the English, Irish, Scottish, and Welsh markets as well as for the development and manufacturing of medical and industrial equipment for worldwide distribution is looking for a **Manufacturing Engineer** to join their ranks.

About the role:
The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for leading and recording the Design for Manufacture (DFM) framework, preparing product cost estimates and tooling/equipment budget, leading PFMEAs, delivering the specifications, procurement and installation fortooling and test equipment, approving drawings, ERP data setup, agreeing component/assembly process design and cell layout with production, delivering production work instructions and training, process validation, preparing, supervising and reporting on productverification builds, preparing process review reports and validation summary reports.

In this role, you will have full responsibility for the process capability, manufacturability, and error-proofing of the designs. You will also participate in medical product development and change management processes.

Other Responsibilities include:

- Design, planning and commissioning of production line layouts/cells/equipment
- Transfer and set up of manufacturing data, including all manufacturing documentation
- Leading and documenting process verification and validation exercises in line with Design Control procedures
- Provide ongoing support to maintain and improve production QCD
- Design and implementation of component supply and finished product systems
- Conduct Health & Safety, COSH and PUWER risk assessments as required
- Maintain an up-to-date knowledge relevant manufacturing processes (injection moulding, sheet metal etc.)
- Lead and participate in Continuous Improvement activities, Training, Quality investigations and Supplier selection

Experience and Qualifications
- Minimum of a HND or HNC in an Engineering discipline is essential
- Experience of 2D & 3D CAD using SolidWorks is desirable
- Minimum of 2 years' experience working in an Engineering or Manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and electronic schematics
- Computer & IT literacy, familiarity with Office software tools
