My Client are an NHS Trust based in Rainham and are seeking a Finance Services Manager on a 5 Month contract at 37.5 hours per week.
**The role will be site based at CEME Centre**
**Job Summary**
This is a senior role within the Finance Directorate and the post holder will form part of the management team of the Directorate. The post holder's main duties will be to manage the Financial Service department to ensure that that all financial accountingfunctions are completed in a timely and effective manner and that the Trust operates within a strong financial control framework.
The Financial Services Manager will be responsible for leading and developing the department to ensure the team is able to provide a professional and efficient service to internal and external stakeholders whilst maintaining proper financial records. That theTrust operates within a strong financial control framework through the development and implementation of financial procedures thus ensuring the achievement of current and future financial targets and to provide financial advice to all interested parties bothinternal and external.
The post holder will be expected to make a contribution to the development and implementation of financial policies, which facilitate the achievement of the Directorate's business objectives and the Trust's statutory financial duties.
The Financial Services Manager will specifically be responsible for the management of staff within the Financial Service undertaking appraisal interviews, agreeing personal development plans and ensuring all staff are compliant with the Trusts mandatory trainingrequirements, leading on the Trust's annual accounts, its quarterly Monitor returns and monthly board reporting.
The post holder will be expected to support their team, department and organisation to achieve the Trust's Mission of 'helping you live the life you want.

**Education and Qualifications**
- Degree or equivalent
- CCAB qualified
- Requirement to maintain CPD with CCAB body

**Experience**
Essential
- Extensive experience working within a finance environment.
- Significant experience working in a financial service within an NHS organisation.
- Extensive experience of cash flow forecasting, monthly management account and year end accounts.
- Significant experience of staff management, appraisals, and staff development

Desirable
- Experience of managing financial services teams
- Experience of leading the closure of a complex set of final accounts
- Experience of liaising with internal and external auditors

**Knowledge and Skills**
Essential
- Expert knowledge of fundamental accounting principles and various monitoring returns
- Specialist knowledge in capital accounting, Internal Financial Reporting Standards, VAT, Tax and Pension systems

Desirable
- Expert knowledge and understanding of NHS Finance Systems and policies e.g. Annual Reporting Manual

**Skills**
Essential
- Ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary environment.
- Ability to recruit select team members.
- Computer literate with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications
- Ability to deputise for the ADF both inside and outside the organisation.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral to non-financial managers
- Ability to work flexibly and adjust to changing requirements.
- Makes professional decisions independently to support the Trust's reporting requirements.
- Continually update on changes to government legislation as it applies to NHS bodies.

Desirable
- Hold advanced European Computer Driving License (ECDL)
- Expert skills in Microsoft Excel and Financial Modelling
- Understand and interpret all existing / new accounting standards and their effect on the organisation
