Senior Strategic Buyer

Senior Strategic Buyer to work within a busy Supply Chain Team at a leading manufacturer of sophisticated vacuum products, exhaust management systems and related value-added services, integral to manufacturing processes for semiconductors, flat panel displays,LEDs and solar cells.
This company is based in Clevedon, BS21 - Ideally situated by M5 junction 21, an easy commute for anyone living in Bridgwater, Cheddar, Bristol or Newport.
- Start ASAP, full time permanent role
- Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm
- £38,800 - £47,000 per annum depending on experience
- 25 days holiday per year plus bank holidays
- Annual performance related bonus of up to 7.5% basic salary

About the role
- Full supplier management covering all aspects of supply across your assigned portfolio, this will include savings within your commodity and lead time reduction along with improving supplier on-time delivery targets.
- Developing strong and robust supply chains supporting the operation, ensuring close working relationships with all internal customers
- Create / Negotiate Contracts and Terms of business with suppliers
- Creating and implementing a supply chain strategy across an allocated commodity which supports the business needs on cost, quality, on-time delivery and new product introduction
- Manage allocated NPI and A&D projects to meet customer specification.
- Contact suppliers and resolving high level issues regarding price, quality, delivery or payment.
- Identifying outsourcing opportunities where there is cost / efficiency savings compared to in-house manufacture
- Extensive experience in a Procurement function supporting a busy manufacturing environment, including strategic experience
- A good level of technical experience within a manufacturing environment
- Experience of evaluating outsourcing projects and value engineering / value added projects
- Able to deal with customers, external and internal to a high standard.
- Experienced with sourcing for New Product Introduction, A & D, resourcing, outsourcing and Continuous Improvement Projects.
- Experience of operating in a dynamic, fast moving Supply Chain and can collaborate effectively with stakeholders from Design, Engineering and Operations.
