About Us: Barnardo's Your Rights Your Voice (YRYV) is dedicated to providing a child-led advocacy service to children under 18 in the secure estate. We empower young individuals who are remanded or sentenced to serve time in custody, ensuring their voices are heard and their rights protected.

About the Role: We are seeking an empathetic and child-led individual who can work within a dynamic and fast-paced environment using their strong organisation, communication, and time management skills to support children in the secure estate.

The Role involves working with children who have complex and multiple needs, often stemming from traumatic experiences and involvement in the criminal justice system.

Key Responsibilities**:Children Rights and Advocacy Project Worker (Young Offenders) - Feltham, Middlesex**
- Amplify the voices of children in custody to relevant authorities and support them in understanding their legal rights.
- Manage a mixture of remote and face-to-face support, ensuring children are safeguarded and procedures are followed.
- Adapt to the challenging environment of HMYOI Feltham, including some lone work.
- Participate in evening and weekend rotas as required, demonstrating flexibility to meet the needs of the service.

**Requirements**:

- Proven experience in Youth or young people advocacy or a related field, ideally within the youth justice sector.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with vulnerable young people.
- Strong understanding of children's rights and relevant legislation.
- Willingness to undergo training and development as required.
- Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain).
