Our Newton Abbot based garden plant nursery and retail centre employs a team of 25 and we are seeking to add a further 8 staff for immediate start. **APPLY TODAY - SEE HOW TO APPLY BELOW**

This general role will include a combination of working in the warehouse picking and packing garden sundry orders to be delivered to our own garden centres and then switching to our large retail garden centre to assist with running the store by taking payments from customers, merchandising the store and carrying out general retail duties.

This flexible role will require you to carry out a wide range of manual tasks across several departments including warehouse, dispatch, and retail.

**Important Information**:

- We are ideally seeking full time permanent employees to join us at this exciting time. Part time hours are not of interest - minimum 30 to 50 hours per week needed
- Flexible to work both week days and weekends on a 5 days out of 7 rota. If you can’t offer weekend working then please don’t apply.
- Higher than regular hourly rates of pay for bright hardworking employees looking to progress in a horticultural career / retail garden centre career. We can offer great options on fast promotion and increased rates of pay for applicants who want to succeed.
- All applicants will need reliable transport / lift to work as public transport is limited.
- All our nursery and retail work requires physical lifting and carrying all day - working on your feet during the day / serving customers and being active. The work suits people who enjoy being fit and healthy and mobile.

**Initial hourly pay for age groups as follows**:
23 years of age and older - £10 to £11 per hour (increasing to £10.42 in April)

19 to 22 years of age - £9 per hour

17 to 18 years of age - £8 per hour

After training to supervisor standard pay increases to £11 to £13 hour (£23k to £27k based on 40 hour week)

Working week is based on applicants agreeing to work between 30 to 50 hours per week (overtime available most weeks during peak season if you want increased hours) based on flexible staff rota covering Monday to Sunday which will include the need for regular weekend working from all staff.

Our company offers full training programs leading to potential management / supervisory roles in our stores / departments. Our company has a proven, successful system for promoting staff from within our ranks over a three to six month period to higher paid roles within the company.
