Fitters Mate

Our client, a successful North East Manufacturer with clients based around the UK, is currently looking for a Fitters Mate to join them on a permanent basis.

We are looking for a Fitters mate who is based in or around Derby, with the flexibility required to travel depending on installation needs.

**Salary**: up to £12 per hour. Overtime and travelling away allowances applicable depending on business needs which offer the opportunity to earn a significantly enhanced salary.

**About the Fitters Mate’s Role**

The role of Fitters Mate will be assisting the lead signage fitter with the installation of a wide range of signage. You will be interpreting and working from instructions, drawings and specifications.

Other responsibilities will include:

- Using relevant tools and equipment within EH&S guidelines as necessary for the completion of works.
- Carrying out planned program of installation in accordance with the work plan.
- Maintaining a good working knowledge and understanding of quality improvement.
- To be conversant and qualified to use and maintain all relevant hand and power hand tools, and workshop equipment in a safe effective manner. Be capable of carrying out a high quality of workmanship in all duties as requested.
- Undertake any other duties as requested by company management and Lead Fitter.

**About You**
- Ability/Willingness to work around the UK. This will involve overnight stays.
- Ability to work alone or as part of a team.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Ability to learn new skills.
- Respectful of the working environment.

**Essential Requirements**:

- Clean UK Driving Licence
- CSCS
- SPA
- IPAF

The following are beneficial but not essential:

- PASMA
- Working knowledge of signage or from a shopfitting background.
