**About the role**:
You will act as a professional who practices effectively with high quality judgement, in situations of complexity, risk, uncertainty and challenge in line with the Professional Capabilities Framework. Manage caseloads with confidence and independence and arerecognised as a source of reliable knowledge and advice and use your initiative to broaden your expertise. You help to support case conferences and produce quality assessments, taking shared responsibility and be accountable for your professional development.You will support equality and diversity and respect anyone working for or in contact with WSCC.
**What you'll need to succeed**:
For this role you will be expected to demonstrate relevant theoretical Social Work concepts, practices and detailed organisational knowledge relating to the provision of a professional Social Work service dealing with complex issues e.g. attachment, impactof developmental trauma & child development. An understanding of the therapeutic interventions that can be used e.g. solution focused, systemic and evidence-based programmes and an excellent understanding of partner agencies. There is a regular requirementto communicate in English with members of the public.
There are lots of flexible working opportunities. Social Workers are on duty 1 in 4 weeks. We require Social Workers to be present in the office when on Duty as our Team Managers want to provide support face to face and value workers spending time togetheras a team.

- To be an experienced worker with at least 2/3 years recent experience.
- Recent Front line - child protection work
- Good assessment skills that are able to identify risk
- Direct work with children to be able to identify their needs - Good multi agency working experience
**Required experience and skills**
**Key Skills**:
- Able to analyse and interpret information and data, prioritise needs and formulate plans for intervention and service provision.
- Able to work proactively as a member of the team to make accurate assessments of needs and negotiate and implement effective outcomes.
- Able to work in partnership with carers, colleagues and external agencies to deliver an effective service.
- Able to communicate clearly and effectively in both written and oral format, including the ability to explain complicated information to others and use negotiation and persuasion skills to encourage others to adopt a course of action.
- Able to recognise limits of own accountability and responsibility and seek appropriate support, advice and supervision.
**Qualifications and/or experience**:
- A recognised Social Work qualification e.g. Degree in Social Work, DipSW, CQSW or equivalent as recognised by the relevant professional body.
- Registration with the relevant professional registration body and maintaining registration with that body.
- Knowledge of theoretical Social Work concepts and practices, with demonstrable examples of dealing with complex issues, for example, attachment, impact of developmental trauma and child development.
- Experience of effectively coaching and supervising others, acting as practice role model and promoting exemplary practice.
- Experience of managing levels of risk within a caseload.
**Location**: Durban House in Bognor Regis. The office provides a comfortable team space with good on-site parking.
