We are currently seeking for a Ships Agent to join our busy team in Grangemouth. This is a great opportunity for someone that is looking for a career in the exciting world of shipping.

No previous experience necessary, however, we do require the successful applicant to be highly motivated, committed and driven, with a full, clean driving license and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

You will be responsible for preparing and setting up vessels in accordance with Quality Assurance (QA) requirements and utilisation of in-house agency system, executing any tasks accordingly to lawful and ethical standards in line with company procedures and guidelines.

**Main Duties & Responsibilities**
- Attend to vessel boarding and visiting as required throughout all ports in Scotland, coordinating vessels’ calls and preparing and completing relevant shipping documentation as appropriate.
- Communicating with principals, harbour authorities, service companies and other associated parties in a timely manner to meet requirements given.
- Advise local customs, Immigration office and other relevant agencies/officials of vessel’s arrival and crew transfers.
- Liaise with ships’ Captains for arrival, sailing information and gather all relevant documentation.
- To provide out of hours office cover with other members of the team on a rota basis (boarding and phone duties) to include bank holidays, weekends and night working.

**About you**
- Minimum GCSE in Mathematics and English Grade C (or equivalent)
- Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels, both verbally and in writing
- Ability of delivering excellent client focused service
- Organisational skills with the ability to prioritise, work well under pressure, meet tight deadlines and maintain focus
- Ability to maintaining accurate manual and electronic records and filing systems
- Ability to problem-solving skills and identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
- Accuracy and attention to detail with the ability to seek ways to improve and promote quality
- IT literacy including knowledge of MS word/excel/outlook
- Team worker with the ability to work collaboratively and able to use own initiative
- Able to work outside office hours.
- Ability to travel within the UK - full clean driving licence.

**Experience**:
