**Salary **- £28,000 - £33,000 per annum

**Hours** - Monday to Friday, 36.25 hours per week with flexible, hybrid working

**Holiday - **23 days annual leave (excluding bank holidays) increasing by one day per each year of service (up to a maximum of 5 days)

**About the Payroll Administrator role**

Due to growth, we have an opportunity for an experienced **Payroll Administrator** to join our payroll team in our head office in **Steyning, Sussex.**

We are looking for someone who is confident with taking on new payroll clients as the position will include on-boarding work right away. We are in the process of growing our client portfolio so aptitude in this area is imperative.

**Key responsibilities of a Payroll Administrator will include**:

- supporting the Payroll Team in providing an efficient and comprehensive payroll service to clients
- day-to-day administration of client payrolls to include RTI submissions and end of year reporting
- processing starters, leavers, SMP, SPP, SSP etc.
- uploading pension contributions
- assisting with reviewing and checking of payrolls
- assisting Payroll Manager with the setup of pension schemes and any new payrolls
- dealing with payroll queries
- meeting strict deadlines and processing all work with a high degree of accuracy

**About you**
- minimum of 2 years working within an accountancy practice or bureau
- relevant payroll qualification or qualified by experience
- strong organisational skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- awareness of confidentiality and need for discretion
- comprehensive understanding of pensions and automatic enrolment
- ability to manually calculate payroll results and explain calculations/breakdown to clients
- confident in talking to people to build client relationships
- thorough knowledge of payroll related legislation such as PAYE, NI, family leave etc.
- experience with IRIS Payroll Professional preferred
