**Position Summary**

To lead, manage and coordinate all aspects of Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) for the location.

**Responsibilities**
- Provide EHS advice and training to key stakeholders as required.
- Ensure that risk assessments are carried out and documented on all appropriate operations to the required quality standard. Work with the operations team to ensure they are updated and ensure they are undertaken when new or modified operations are introduced.
- Undertake regular EHS inspections and audits together with representatives of employee safety and report on all recommended improvements.
- Support the appropriate overall management of the accident / incident investigation process, regarding any near misses or injuries and ensure that effective remedial action is tracked to closure and reviewed for effectiveness.
- Keep up-to-date with new regulations and policies, ensuring the appropriate training of the team and sharing information.
- Identify and assure conformity with customer, corporate, governmental and other requirements so as to ensure continued compliance.
- Work to establish effective environmental, health and safety management systems.
- To support the operations teams with proactive safety initiatives and campaigns.
- To support the upkeep of all Parker online reporting tools and systems to ensure correct safety data and statistics are available for the location.
- To support the delivery of skills training within IPDE focused on Health, Safety & Welfare at Work.
- Act as a part of the primary company interface with the HSE, insurance companies and any other external agencies involved in EHS (also includes support for ISO audits with regards to the certified management systems in the plant).
- Ensure that appropriate PPE is adopted for specific activities against the risk assessment and that stock is available and controlled in a cost-effective manner.
- Undertake regular recording, monitoring and analysis of health & safety data in order to be able to identify trends, respond to internal/external requests for information.
- Collaborate on the review/updates for all current policies and procedures and other documentation in order to meet legal and certified standards and report on general compliance.
- Deputise responsibility for effective fire/other building evacuation procedures and coordinate the roles and responsibilities of Wardens / Controllers.
- Liaise with HR regarding any safety issues raised by Occupational Health advisors by reviewing and advising line management on practical actions to be taken.
- Analyse causes of accidents for trends and recommend future preventative action in conjunction with management and HSE.
- Provide regular statistics on Safety concerns/ Recordable/ Reportable Accidents and Incidents so that appropriate preventative actions can be taken.
- In conjunction with HR and Manufacturing management identify skills development required for groups or individuals to meet current and future business needs and agree the most effective delivery methods.
- Deliver training in IPDE against the agreed training plan either by personal delivery or the organisation of external training resources.

**Key Accountabilities**
- Maintain knowledge of EHS legislation, Parker Directives and best practice in order to proactively advise location management on the adoption of appropriate policies and procedures in order to be legally compliant and help achieve a safe working environment.
- Work with line managers to ensure they undertake and maintain Risk Assessments for work areas and activities in order to inform the workforce as to the safe working practices to be followed.
- Ensure that necessary analysis and resultant actions address the risk base for EHS Environment with appropriate records and traceability of responsibility and resolution especially in the event of accidents or environmental incidents.
- Ensure through effective personal presentations skills and use of visual aids that training and communication of skills, knowledge and information occurs effectively such that learning and/or communication is delivered effectively.
- Making recommendations to, and assisting Management in the achievement of the intention and objectives of the EHS Policy within the location.
- To 'stop the job' if there is a risk to health or safety.
- Have a detailed understanding of all relevant EHS legislation and that statutory and company records, registers and accident reporting procedures are functioning effectively.
- Matters of EHS are given prominence through audits. Inspections and Committees, and that all levels of employees are aware of their responsibilities for safety.
- Assisting Managers and Supervisors in monitoring health and safety performance, the implementation of programmes of improvements and relevant training.
