**Direct reporting to**: Day Service Manager and MMI Chef

**Main Purpose of Post**

To support MMI cook to make healthy and nutrition meals.

To ensure that the service provision of the charity is conducted in a manner which furthers the aims of Me, Myself & I Neath Port Talbot, delivering on a person-centred care approach for people living with dementia to access a daybreak provision.

**Accountabilities / Responsibilities**
- Keep a safe and comfortable environment for guests, volunteers, and staff. Ensure spaces are kept clean, sanitised, and free from any health & safety hazards
- To be responsible for own continuous professional development and ongoing learning.
- Assisting the chef in the planning, preparation, cooking, and service of varied, interesting, and healthy menus.
- Kitchen porter / pot washing
- Deputise for the other catering staff in their absence.
- Ensure high standards of cleanliness within the kitchen areas are adhered to.
- Properly storing food items at appropriate temperatures.

**Other**
- Cleaning the kitchen after cooking each meal and ensuring the prep area and kitchen is cleaned and sanitized at the end of shift
- Rotating stock items as established procedures
- Cover holidays and sickness
- Being a role model for volunteers and staff

**Health & Safety**
- Report any Hazards, Incidents or Accidents to the correct member of staff
- Raise any Safeguarding concerns to your Team Leader as soon as possible

Have good numeracy and literacy skills.

NVQ Level one and Level two in catering OR four years’ experience withing within the catering industry

Leve 2 Food Hygiene Certificate
