**Title**: Night Residential Support Worker (Waking Watch)

**Location**: Longton, Preston (PR4)

**Salary**: £11.00-£12.00 per hour (DoE) - _due to increase in April_

**Hours**:Average 35 per week (min 30 pw), usual pattern on 22:00-08:00, 3 on, 3 off.

Our established children’s residential home is looking for a Night Residential Children’s Support Worker who is passionate for making a difference in the lives of young people. Ideally, you'll have relevant experience and qualifications around residential care and childcare, but more importantly, we're looking for people who can build meaningful relationships with the young people in our care and be part of a supportive team.

As a Night Residential Children's Support Worker, you'll be responsible for providing high quality care to our young people on the night shift. You will be there for our young people throughout the night to ensure they remain safe and supported.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Provide a safe and supportive environment for young people in care
- Promote the health and wellbeing of young people
- Work with other professionals, including social workers and medical professionals, to ensure the best possible outcomes for young people
- Ensure that the home is run in line with Ofsted regulations and company policies and procedures
- Support young people in all aspects of their daily lives, including education, and leisure activities
- Act as a positive role model for young people and promote their social and emotional development
- Work collaboratively with other members of the team, including senior staff and external agencies
- Attend meetings and training as required
- Maintaining a safe and nurturing environment for young people in line with Ofsted regulations, and company policies
- Ensuring accurate and timely record keeping, report writing and daily logs
- Liaising with colleagues, multi-agency teams, and stakeholders

**Requirements**:

- Previous experience within residential childcare is desirable
- Ideally, you will have relevant qualifications relevant to residential childcare
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as resilience
- Ability to work flexibly, following shift patterns
- Knowledge of Ofsted regulations and safeguarding procedures
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A positive and proactive approach to problem-solving
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people

**Salary**: £11.00-£12.00 per hour
