**Assistant Residential Worker**

**Salary**:£22,600 per annum, depending on experience. (pro-rata)

**Location**: Aylesbury, Bucks.

**Contract/Hours**: Permanent Part Time 24 hours a week. Shifts are on a rota basis including earlies, evenings, and every alternate weekend. Shifts are likely to be 2 pm to 10 pm and 7am to 2.30pm. Flexibility is essential due to the nature of the home being staffed 24/7.

**About the role**

The Grove is a residential Short Breaks home in Aylesbury that supports young people to achieve their potential, have fun and make friends within a safe supportive environment.

Your role would be supporting young people aged 8-18, throughout their stay in The Grove, assisting and making the young person's stay with us relaxing and fun. You will be encompassed within a hardworking team that works as part of a rota working a variety of early, late and weekend shifts.

You will be passionate, committed, and resilient and yes, this role can at sometimes be emotionally and physically challenging but it's also fun, diverse and you will feel huge sense of reward by being able to help, in the best way possible If this all sound

**How you will help our Young People**:

- Work as part of a team to provide high quality person centred care.
- Provide support to young people who can display challenging emotional and social difficulties
- Support them in their personal care, medication and clinical procedures.
- Promote communication and participation
- Carry out routine household tasks
- Contribute to care plans, meetings reports.
- Record observations and main up to date electronic files
- Attend training in line with the needs of the home

**Let's talk about you**
- Experience of working with children or young people (experience working with children with disabilities would be an advantage).
- Level 3 QCF Working with Children and Young People or equivalent is desirable, but you can work towards this.
- Ability to work on own initiative.
- A flexible approach to working hours (service open seven days a week).
- A good standard of written English and the ability to make accurate notes for recordkeeping.

**_The successful applicant for this role will also receive a comprehensive training and qualification package, as well as a 2% salary increase upon completion._**
