Press Operator

**2 x Permanent Back Shift, 2 x Permanent Night Shift**

We are a manufacturer of orthopedic components/materials manufactured to high specifications for the medical industry. Our main focus is to supply high quality medical products to exacting customer and international specifications, supported by our technical department which is capable of testing polymeric materials to the highest standards. In order to support continued business growth we require 4 highly motivated individuals to join our Press Department.

**Key Accountable Areas**:

- Follow procedures to set up, monitor and sign for operation of Daylight press
- Clean down of Daylight press in accordance with good medical practices
- Loading of polymer according to log sheet in accordance with good medical practices
- Knowledge of breakdowns, alarms, cycle parameters and emergency contact
- Measure, check and mark up of finished product cycle and sheet to ensure it conforms to finished product procedures
- Packing/unpacking
- Setting and running extrusion machinery
- Use of other machinery including bailer, band saw and cranes
- Ensuring ovens are loaded/unloaded in a timely manner

**Required Qualifications/Knowledge**:

- 3 GCSE Grade C or above (to include ICT) or equivalent qualifications
- Production Process Flows
- Good Manufacturing Practice
- Mechanical Aptitude
- Plastics Industry (Advantageous)
- Previous experience in a factory / manual role
- Full driving licence and transport as this role will require the applicant to work between 2 sites

**Hours of Employment**
- Due to the nature of the work, you may be expected to be flexible with regards to working hours and breaks to enable the best efficiency and utilisation during the daily period
- Duties and hours may vary dependent upon workload
- For a fixed term (initially until December 2023) the working hours of the department will be as follows, however this may continue into 2024:
**Back Shift** - 15.00 - 23.00 working on a 2 weekly rotating Sunday to Thursday and Tuesday to Saturday shift basis

**Night Shift** - 23.00 - 07.00 working on a 4 weekly rotating Sunday to Thursday and Tuesday to Saturday shift basis

**Salary**: £32,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
