Job Summary:
Job Location - London & Surrounding areas.

Working hours - Mon - Fri - 8am - 5pm (30 minutes unpaid lunch).

Salary £35-£37K dependant on experience.

A Legionella Risk Assessor is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and managing the risk of Legionella contamination in water systems.

Assessing various types of water systems, including cooling towers, hot and cold-water systems, and other water-based equipment, to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and guidelines.

The primary goal is to prevent the spread of Legionella bacteria and protect public health.

Key Responsibilities:

- Site Inspections: Conduct thorough inspections of water systems at client sites to identify potential sources of Legionella contamination.
- Risk Assessment: Evaluate the risk of Legionella growth and transmission by considering factors such as water temperature, system design, water quality, and maintenance practices.
- Sampling and Testing: Collect water samples from different points within the water systems and send them to laboratories for Legionella analysis. Interpret test results and recommend appropriate actions based on findings.
- Compliance Monitoring: Ensure that water systems comply with relevant local, national, and international regulations, guidelines, and industry standards, such as the Health and Safety Executive's Approved Code of Practice (ACoP) L8 in the UK.
- Report Generation: Prepare detailed reports outlining the findings of assessments, including risk levels, compliance status, and recommendations for risk mitigation.
- Risk Mitigation: Advise clients on implementing control measures to reduce or eliminate the risk of Legionella contamination. This may include cleaning and disinfection, temperature control, and maintenance of water systems.
- Continual Education: Stay updated on the latest developments in Legionella risk assessment and management, attending relevant training and conferences.

Qualifications and Requirements:

- Certification as a Legionella Risk Assessor (e.g., City & Guilds Level 2 Award in Legionella Risk Assessment and Control) is often required.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and guidelines related to Legionella risk assessment (e.g., ACoP L8 in the UK).
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of water system design and maintenance practices.
- Experience in conducting risk assessments and Legionella testing is advantageous.
- Health and safety awareness and training.
- Willingness to travel to client sites as needed.

A Legionella Risk Assessor plays a critical role in safeguarding public health by preventing Legionnaires' disease outbreaks through proactive risk assessment and management of water systems.

The job involves a combination of fieldwork, and communication with clients to ensure compliance and safety.

**Salary**: £35,000.00-£37,000.00 per year
