**The Role**

We are looking for an experienced Media Planner to join our Strategy Department. Our media planners lead the development of channel agnostic media plans across a range of clients, working with colleagues across media, creative and data to meet client objectives in the most effective way possible.

You will champion marketing effectiveness for our clients, helping to guide our teams to deliver the right message to the right audience in the right place at the right time.

This involves understanding our clients audiences, their needs and preferred media and platforms, as well as how best to maximise the channels at our disposal.

There are three core components to the role:

- Identifying and understanding our clients target audiences
- Determining the most effective media mix to reach them
- Coordinating, monitoring and evaluating media campaigns and strategies

You will work closely with other departments in the agency to ensure all our activity is aligned and delivering against agreed objectives and targets.

**Responsibilities**

Key responsibilities for this role are as follows:

- Work with the client and client services team to fully understand campaign briefs, and establish objectives and KPIs that our campaigns are contributing to
- Build understanding of the audience the campaign needs to reach, building a picture of who they are, what motivates them and their behaviours
- Developing insights, strategic direction and, in collaboration with delivery teams, forming recommended solutions
- Recommend budget allocation per channel based on objectives and insights
- Create media plans which justify the media channels to be used, working with specialist teams to ensure they are feasible
- Keep up to date with the latest opportunities and research across all media channels
- Develop recommendations on new opportunities and potential testing options for all media plans
- Develop measurement frameworks for all plans to establish campaign effectiveness
- Contribute to new business opportunities, working with the wider team to develop the media plans fuelled with insights and strategic direction
- Identify future risks/opportunities for client's marketing activity and how to approach these with delivery teams - including how to use digital technology to enhance their overall marketing activity
- Host immersion workshops and other stakeholder sessions to deepen our understanding of the business’ challenges and opportunities

**Skills and Qualifications**

Desirable skills and qualifications include:

- Experience as a Digital Marketing Strategist or similar role
- Good knowledge of all digital marketing channels
- Good knowledge and experience with online marketing tools and best practices
- Hands on experience with SEO/PPC, Google Analytics
- Numerate and able to understand, interpret and use complex and varied sources of data and statistics.
- Strong communication, able to simplify and explain complex plans and strategic thinking.
- Well informed about trends in media research and technological developments, and proactive in translating these into new opportunities for clients.
- Ability to interpret client briefs, challenge thinking and form recommendations
- Being able to juggle multiple activities and client projects, ensuring on-time delivery of all required tasks
- Experience across both B2B and B2C brands as well as across multiple verticals

**Who you’ll work with**

Media planners work closely with other teams, such as paid media, creative, organic and experience so that campaign ideas, strategies and objectives are achievable, prioritised, and converted into tangible tasks.

Leadership with clients and colleagues is a key element of the role.
