The Isle of Wight College is looking for an enthusiastic and hardworking team player to join our friendly, small and fast paced generalist HR team, based at our Newport campus.

In this role, you will work closely with our HR Advisor and HR Officer to support our managers and 370 employees across all areas of the employee life-cycle, including recruitment and selection activities, training and development coordination, employee relations and HR related payroll and contract support

You will be an effective and tactful communicator, who can help find solutions to issues within the College’s policies and employment law. You will also need to be well organised and able to prioritise your work and deal with issues as they arise on a day to day basis. Attention to detail and good administrative skills are also essential

You will also contribute to achieving the College’s overall priorities, with a strong commitment to ensuring our workforce is equipped to provide students with the best possible experience.

You will have experience of working in HR and/or managing people including managing employee related issues, recruitment, and have an interest in staff development and HR best practices.

You will also ideally hold a HR related qualification with a working knowledge of employment law and human resource best practice. In addition, a working knowledge of the education sector and Safeguarding would also be of benefit but is not essential. In each case, the College will support your wider continued professional development through both internal and external training.
