Swimming Instructor for Private Swim School

We are a dedicated family-run private swim school based outside Broughshane, Ballymena with a small team of dedicated swimming instructors. We focus our teaching mainly on children's lessons age 5 and above and also provide lessons for parent and baby/toddler as well as adult lessons.

We pride ourselves on the high standard of our facility and our teaching/delivery of lessons.

**Job description**

We are looking for a committed swimming instructor to teach our main children's programme (levels 1-7) for part time hours teaching from afternoon (approx 3pm) to early evening weekdays and Saturdays morning to afternoon shifts. The instructor must to have an STA/Swim Ireland level 2 teaching qualification or equivalent, and active account with STA. Additional qualifications within swimming would be highly desirable but not necessary.

Lessons:

- Children's lessons age 5+, Level's 1-7
- From 3pm
- evening (ranging from 7:30pm-9pm)
- Adult classes
- Parent & Child classes

We are looking for someone who is a friendly, team player and has a passion for teaching and drive to deliver high quality lessons. Our lessons are in groups of 1:6 ratio of instructor to children and are 30 minutes long.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

- expected to teach and control their class safely and effectively
- create an enjoyable fun environment for children to learn
- assess children's progress, give feedback and information to other staff regarding the swimmers' progress
- ensure the poolside is left in the necessary condition, including removing the platforms from the water
- Must be able to set up the pool area if needed
- A good communicator is absolutely vital for this role

Hours available:

- Weekday shifts and Saturday (to be confirmed
- please contact with availability as this is negotiable)
- Hours will vary and are increasing as we expand our timetable (opportunities for additional qualifications)

Important Information:
**Swimming Instructors are paid 15 minutes before and 15 mins after lesson time, as well as a half an hour break.**
