Your new School
Hays are recruiting a Full-Time Teaching Assistant in Rhondda Cynon Taf for a Special Educational Needs School which caters for pupils aged 3-19. The role shall consist of supporting Primary School age students with profound learning difficulties on a 1:1 basisas well as in small groups. The school is an excellent place to work within and is highly regarded for their fantastic facilities, as well as the work of their staff. The school creates and maintains an enjoyable, creative, and supportive learning environmentfor their students, giving each pupil the best chance of succeeding at the school.
Your new role
The role is confirmed long-term for an immediate start, working 5 days a week. Hays also offers similar Part-Time positions, as well as roles with later start dates in March / April. Duties relating to this role include but are not limited to:

- Working with small groups of students with sometimes profound additional learning needs.
- Supporting students on a 1:1 basis.
- Demonstrating high levels of patience, empathy, and care when dealing with potentially challenging behaviour.
- Creating and maintaining a safe, positive, and enjoyable learning environment.
- Working closely as part of a positive and welcoming teaching team.
- Supporting in the implementation and delivery of a lesson plan, ensuring that students are engaged in their work.

What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this role, it is required that you possess at least 40 days of relevant experience working or volunteering within a School or with children over the course of the last 2 - 3 years. Some of the key attributes and skills needed for this roleinclude empathy, calmness, respect, and patience. Further desired traits include responsiveness, problem-solving skills, commitment, and a high degree of motivation.
