Stores / Yard Operative

GCU are a specialised contractor that offers a full suite of services to several key sectors including Utilities, Telecommunications, Civil Engineering and Traffic Management. GCU require a Stores / Yard Operative to join the team in Beauly.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Administer all work yard operations and ensure compliance to safety policies.
- Ensure proper handling of all materials and store it appropriately.
- Coordinate with supervisor and receive all materials and prepare necessary paperwork for same.
- Perform routine and non-routine maintenance checks on plant & equipment
- Monitor inventory of supplies and place purchase orders as necessary.
- Prepare order for stock and equipment for pick up by the work gangs.
- Monitor loading of materials to ensure safe transfer
- Maintain neat and clean yard at all times.
- Develop and implement yard fire protection programs to ensure fire safety.
- Supervise all company staff in all yard operations. Adhering to all Relevant Health and Safety Regulations. Other ad hoc assignments as and when necessary

**Skills and experience required**:

- A minimum of two year’s relevant experience in Stores / Yard duties.
- Applicants will be able to update and input into computerised stock systems. Previous of SAGE will be an advantage.

The working pattern is Mon - Fri and Saturday until 2.00pm.

**Experience**:

- Stores / Yard: 2 years (preferred)
- Computerised Stock Systems: 2 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Telehandler licence (preferred)
- Driving Licence (preferred)

Work authorisation:

- United Kingdom (preferred)
