ESH Specialist Position Overview

My client is looking for an experienced ESH Specialist to join the team within Services division in United Kingdom to provide support and advice, ensuring compliance with statutory and company policies. This is an exciting opportunity for you to be able to identify opportunities for continual improvement of the ESH Management System, to facilitate and lead actions that help achieve targets and objectives. The company have 17 sites in the UK and this is a remote role and will involve significant travel primarily around the South and Midlands of the UK, there is also opportunity to be based in the Birmingham office if preferred.

Responsibilities include:

- Maintaining an integrated management system and associated documentation within the requirements of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001
- Promoting and coaching others in the implementation of the ESH Management System
- Safe systems of working are developed and implemented for all activities following rigorous risk assessments and operating procedures
- Planning, supporting, and coordinating of sufficient risk assessments
- Supporting the local audit and inspection program to maximise compliance
- Site inspections
- Maintain excellent recording systems to collate information on identifying risk, reporting possible risk, corrective actions, non-conformance, investigations, stator examinations or other required inspections
- Liaise with external enforcing authorities
- Interpretating and disseminating information following Statutory Inspection Reports
- Investigating reported accidents, incidents, work-related health-related and complaints
- Proactively engaging and supporting the companies' initiatives for continuous improvement

ESH Specialist Position Requirements
- Prior experience within an advisory capacity ESH role is essential, particularly within a medium to large manufacturing environment or industrial workshop
- Strong expeience working within an engineering environment
- Experience working with an environemnt in old workshop machinery, PUWER, lifting, burn out ovens, racking would be extremely advantageous
- NEBOSH General Certificate
- Membership of IQA/EMA/IOSH
- Working knowledge of UK/European Environment, Health and Safety standards and legislation
- Contractor management experience would be advantageous
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft packages
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to own, manage and close actions with Service Centre Managers, in a timely manner
- Target driven with a solution-oriented mindset
- Methodical in your approach
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Holder of a valid UK driving license
- Willingness to travel on a regular basis

ESH Advisor Position Remuneration
