You’ll be someone who is both comfortable working proactively and managing your own tasks, as well as confident collaborating with others and communicating regularly with senior managers, directors, and BDO’s partners to help businesses effectively. You’llbe encouraged to identify and draw attention to opportunities for enhancing our delivery and providing additional services to organisations we work with.

In this role you will ensure an effective control environment exists and is maintained and that key financial deliverables are met in line with agreed deadlines and statutory requirements. The role will be a senior role within the central finance team, amember of the Finance Leadership Team (FLT) with key senior direct reports and will report directly into a Director in the Finance team.

You'll be someone with:

- Strong mathematical ability who can produce, understand and explain complex movements of numbers through the accounts
- The ability to pay attention to detail and develop new and pragmatic procedures/action plans when required
- Strong people management experience - Awareness of individual learning styles and different training techniques
- Accountancy qualification - CIMA, ACA or ACCA - Significant experience in PQE or equivalent
- Proven experience of IFRS/FRS102/SORP and preparation of consolidated group accounts and running of year-end audit processes.
- Experience of running profit sharing/equalisation accounts alongside management accounts and consolidated statutory records is advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of VAT and other regulatory compliance, particularly employment tax is advantageous
- Proven experience of maintaining strong control environments and can demonstrate a clear understanding of all aspects of a fully functioning finance department including risk areas and process improvement possibilities.
