**Your role**:

- Assist the lead teacher in implementing educational programs for children with autism and special needs
- Support students in their learning activities, both individually and in small groups
- Help create a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Provide one-on-one support to students who require additional assistance
- Assist with classroom management and behaviour management strategies
- Collaborate with the lead teacher to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Monitor student progress and document observations
- Assist with daily routines, including toileting, feeding, and personal care tasks
- Engage students in educational activities that promote social, emotional, and cognitive development

**What we are looking for**:

- Enhanced DBS
- 6 months experience working with children, preferably in a special education setting
- Knowledge of autism spectrum disorders and familiarity with evidence-based interventions
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to connect with children on an individual level
- Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively as part of a team
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of students

Preferred Skills:

- Experience working with toddlers or young children
- Familiarity with applied behaviour analysis (ABA) techniques
- Certification or coursework in special education or related field
