Tewkesbury, United Kingdom Bromford Full time

Are you enthusiastic to learn more about the electrician trade, develop new skills and be committed to a new career path, earning money whilst studying? Then you Belong at Bromford

During this four-year apprenticeship you’ll train to become a qualified electrician, with a focus on gaining the skills needed to wire new homes, undertake reactive repairs, perform electrical test and inspections - and much more, whilst being part of a dynamic M&E team.

In return we can offer you an excellent structured programme of learning, training and development with a dedicated mentor. You will be rewarded for your efforts and determination to succeed by having the opportunity of building a long-term career with Bromford.

**Who are we?**

Bromford is a housing association whose purpose is to invest in homes and relationships so people can thrive. We believe it is our customer’s basic right to have a home that is safe, secure, and warm. We will not compromise on ensuring our homes are all of this and more. We provide homes that customers are proud to live in, that work for them and their family and are the springboard they need to achieve their aspirations - not a barrier.

**The Role**

As an Electrical apprentice you will learn electrical skills, including how to diagnose and repair problems, carry out electrical test and inspection and maintenance work in our properties, thus making sure our customers’ homes are safe and 100% compliant with electrical regulations.

Our electrical teams typically work Monday to Friday, starting 8am or sometimes before and finishing at around 4.30pm. A flexible attitude is essential.

Learning is a big part of the job, so we would be looking for someone excited to develop themselves. Someone who has a positive approach, good customer service skills and provides a first-class service. This is a development role so whatever your strengths or weaknesses, you will be surrounded and supported by a friendly and experienced team.

You’ll have a mentor to guide you from day one and in no time at all you will be learning practical electrical skills, whilst studying for a formal recognised qualification.

This apprenticeship is a full time, 4-year fixed term contract, including 3 years of part time study for your qualification and a further 1-year practical placement.** You will receive standard Bromford T&Cs like all colleagues and your salary will increase each year.**

**You will be based from our Tewkesbury hub (GL20)**. Due to the nature of the programme, a basic DBS check will be completed for you.**

**You’ll Need**:

- To be excited to learn and develop as a professional electrician
- A willingness to work in our customers’ homes and provide a great service
- Ability to maintain work-life-study balance to meet set deadlines
- An eye for quality and working safely
- To be excited to work in a well-established team creating a Great Place To Work

If this sounds like you, you’ll feel right at home here. At Bromford we give both customers and colleagues the opportunity to realise their potential. In our team you’ll do incredible work and be rewarded for doing so. Not just in the smiling faces of the thriving communities that you help build, but in the trust, support, training, success and friendship you’ll find in our team.

In addition to a competitive salary, we will offer you a fantastic benefits package. This includes; 27 days holiday (plus statutory bank holidays); a choice of defined benefit and defined contribution pension schemes; trust-based flexible working, and a £500 personal allowance to spend on your choice of things like private medical cover, dental treatment and gym membership. Bromford Housing Group is committed to recruiting with care and safeguarding employees and customers, as a result we will carry out pre-employment checks. We will also be asking for references for everyone who is offered employment with us which must cover the last two years. In addition to this, all employees will be asked for evidence of their right to live and work in the UK - further information is available on the UK Government website.
