Job Summary:
IPS (Impact Production Services) is a specialist technical event production supplier with three main business areas: Staging & Structures, Technical Production and Trade Hire. Based in Milton Keynes, the office and warehouse team work with Staging, Lighting, Rigging, Video and Power equipment, and all the associated logistics. Projects are very varied and range from supplying staging for a local school play to a providing full technical production for an outdoor music festival. IPS regularly works all over the UK, and correctly maintained equipment is essential to successful service delivery.
Based in our busy Milton Keynes warehouse. You will be required to specialise in the preparation and maintenance of all Power equipment, reporting to the Warehouse Manager this role requires the applicant to have good communication skills, and to be a team player. This role requires someone who is proactive and energetic and is keen to help IPS deliver services to the exacting requirements of our clients and continue to develop and grow the business.

Understanding that the role will require both physical and technical ability
Willingness to work paid overtime, including some anti-social hours.
Full Driving License (desired)

**Role**:
Within the role of Head of Department - Power, the following areas of work would be regularly expected to be completed:
To manage daily work planning for department.
To adhere to and assist with the development of all Company and industry health and safety regulations; being responsible for your own health and safety and that of others, ensuring fire precautions and emergency procedures are complied with both at the warehouse and onsite.
Ensure compliance within the Company’s written standard practice and departmental procedures as detailed in the Handbook.
To assist in the development of the Power department procedures
To maintain and prepare Power equipment efficiently and to the highest possible standards.
Check equipment in and out using Hiretrack software.
Assist where required with equipment investment decisions, through presenting a business and technical case for equipment selection, identify and advise the company of the latest equipment, trends and techniques, especially within the Power area of IPS
To assist with the design and specification of equipment on events where required
Inspect all equipment to ensure compliance with relevant statutory regulations, including PAT testing.
Work with the Warehouse Manager to develop, refine and implement improved procedures, and to ensure that all inventory processes run as effectively as possible.
Notify the Warehouse manager of shortages of equipment or consumable items at the earliest opportunity
Maintain Power Department and work areas in a clean and orderly state.
Help out within other Departments when required.
Undertake other tasks and responsibilities as directed by the Warehouse manager based upon the changing needs of the business.
To identify and undertake appropriate training and development as agreed with your line manager.
To act as an ambassador when required for IPS in the representation of the Company at exhibitions, internal/external meetings and events and all other times.
To Maintain Strict confidentiality at all times
**Benefits**:
As a full time, employee, your salary will be dependent on experience, and based on a 42.5 hour working week, Overtime will be payable outside of the standard IPS working hours of 8.5 hours a day worked between 06:00 to 20:00 Monday to Friday, IPS offers 20 days paid annual leave, plus bank holidays. Statuary sick pay and maternity/paternity benefits will be payable as appropriate. An additional day of paid leave will be accrued after four years of employment.
IPS regularly provides training to employees as appropriate, including IPAF/ Forklift certification and Rigging courses. IPS will provide safety boots and gloves, as well as branded T-Shirts and jackets which form the workplace uniform. As a technician, you would be required to have your own comprehensive tool kit. IPS provides all power tools and plant for use in the warehouse and onsite.
