**Freelance writer: "The business of technology"**

We are looking for a remote, freelance writer to originate content for the MSP Marketing Edge. Estimated 20-30 hours a month, so will fit nicely around other responsibilities.

**What is this?**

It is a marketing subscription for MSPs (Managed Service Providers) also known as IT support companies.

Our 700+ members get the same marketing materials from us every week and every month. They use this to win new clients for their businesses.

The MSP Marketing Edge has been running for six years and is a mature, stable and growing service.

**What exactly will I be doing?**

You will be writing original content that will look like it has been published by the MSP, and appeals to their target clients: ordinary business owners and managers.

The content is mostly themed around technology, but nothing "techy". It is the technology everyday, ordinary businesses would use and understand.

This means you need to demonstrate an understanding of how business owners and managers think, and a good awareness of what is happening in everyday business technology (Microsoft 365, cyber security, the cloud, remote working etc).

You will agree topics with our content editor on a weekly Zoom, and then write this content, meeting strict deadlines:
Weekly:

- 60-second video script
- Blog article
- Seven days of social media content
- LinkedIn talking points

Monthly:

- Educational guide
- Promotional tools for the guide
- 60-second video script
- Printed newsletter
- Press release

You only have to write. We have an established production team for the videos and design.

**Do I need experience?**

Yes, we will want to see experience of professional journalism, and familiarity with a business audience.

**Do I need to have a marketing or technology background?**

No, although that would be an advantage.

The materials we produce are aimed at ordinary business owners and managers (these are the clients our members want to attract).

You will need to demonstrate you can think like a business owner.

The ability to explain complicated technology concepts in a simple way would be a huge advantage.

**Where will I be working?**

In your house, in your underwear. Or in Starbucks (trousers advised).

This is a flexible, remote role. Most of our team are working parents and everyone is remote. There is no office.

So it does not matter where you live or if you work around children, another job or some other commitment. So long as you can easily meet the weekly and monthly production schedules, which are fixed in stone.

You will definitely need to be available for a Zoom call at some point during the UK working day (9am to 5pm), on a regular weekday and time (Monday to Thursday).

**Money**

£1,000 a month, on a freelance basis.
