**SMT Operators - Tewkesbury**

Our client is a market leading, global, electronics manufacturer based in Tewkesbury.

Due to continual expansion, they are seeking to hire a number of experienced Surface Mount Technology operator's (SMT's) to join the team on a full time, permanent basis.

The successful applicants will be instrumental in the assembly of circuit boards to an extremely high standard, for low volume, high value products which are distributed to customers throughout the globe.

This is a hands-on role that requires mechanical knowledge, electrical expertise, and attention to detail.

**Typical responsibilities include**:

- To help in the screen-printing operation, including loading of stencils, solder paste and printed circuit boards
- To operate the stencil wash machine when required
- The loading of components into feeders and placement trays
- To make suggestions for any operating improvements in order to increase efficiency
- The hand placement of additional components
- An understanding of moisture and static sensitive devices
- Quality inspection of own work and identifying defects for rework.

**Knowledge, skills and experience**:

- Possess previous experience in electronic assembly, specifically with prior experience of SMT operations; machine operation, stencil wash, screen print and IR reflow equipment
- Experience with Fuji machines is advantageous but not essential
- Familiarity with 5s principles is advantageous but not essential
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment

The successful applicants will be able to demonstrate experience working in electronics product assembly, specifically Surface Mount machine operation and have the ability to work effectively under pressure, in a calm and methodical manner.
