What we need...

The primary responsibility of this role is to effectively oversee the technical operations of the business, providing MI to influence business decisions, delivering operational excellence through continuous innovation and improvements and building and maintaining effective relationships with all key stakeholders to support business continuity and service levels.

You will take the lead in producing and providing management information pertaining to the underwriting performance and operations of the business. You will own the process of underwriting MI, building on the existing framework to enhance and improve efficiencies. Delivering a comprehensive review of business KPIs and SLAs, proposing solutions and following up on actions to help resolve issues.

You will utilise specific technical skills to support, manage and deliver a high quality, professional service to the underwriting team, senior management team and the wider business including external clients and brokers.

You will have a excellent industry and technical knowledge in the areas of bordereaux management, IT and systems, regulation and compliance as well as demonstrating key attributes of a an exemplary operator i.e. communication; organisation, project management, decision making, problem solving etc.

In addition you will manage, support and nurture the performance and development of your direct reports, providing excellent coaching and mentorship in conjunction with HR representatives.

You will be required to build positive relationships and partnerships with the underwriters, management team, suppliers and other key stakeholders.

Whilst executing the responsibilities of this role you will be trusted with the handling of sensitive data, both personal and financial - you must follow all governing and company policies and deadlines to ensure our compliance.

You will organise your time systematically and efficiently, but also using your own initiative to arrange work and resources for yourself to facilitate task achievement within the required timeframes.

You may be delegated tasks which should be completed in a timely manner in addition to your duties, as dictated by the needs of the business.

This role requires you to be data driven, accurate, compliant and methodical, and actively look to lead on and support the objectives for the business.

Role Specification

Technical Operations & Administration
- Create, update and maintain all technical processes and procedures. Ensuring suitable training is provided and all requirements, deadlines and policies are adhered to.
- Bordereaux management within UK/Ireland insurance markets, demonstrating end-to-end knowledge of bordereaux processing to effectively validate, reconcile and troubleshoot
- Continuously identifying opportunities for further automation and improvement of all technical processes - managing their development, implementation and roll out to the wider team.
- Manage, improve and maintain the relationship with our underwriting platform providers to ensure continuity of business, driving and implementing efficient technical improvements through effective project management
- Preparation and distribution of key business reports and data metrics to the board of directors, the wider team and key external partners where applicable
- Ensuring compliance with company policy, customer service standards and external compliance regulations

Team & Departmental Management
- Adhering to and reinforcing company and departmental values and pillars to demonstrate excellent behaviours and setting exemplary standards
- Undertaking line management duties for direct reports. Providing excellent coaching and mentorship - managing their performance through demonstration, delegation and supervision
- Delivering departmental KPIs and SLAs - contiuously challenging the status quo and striving to exceed expectations
- Work closely with underwriters to provide guidance to enable the correct management and monitoring of binding authorities

**Salary**: £35,000.00-£65,000.00 per year
