**Job Description**:
This is a hybrid role that can be based in either our Shirebrook, London, or Manchester Head Office.

In recognition of the evolution of retail to a more digital experience, we are recruiting for this role to ensure the diligent management of one of our most valuable assets - personal data. As the business seeks to grow its digital presence, we continue to find new and exciting ways to engage with our customers and so need a dedicated expert to assist the business in ensuring that our new innovations are designed with data privacy at its core.

You will work as part of the Information Security Risk and Governance team alongside a two data protection advisors and will provide advice and guidance to ensure compliance with data protection legislation across the Group. You will assist in the development and monitoring of policies and standards applicable to the business.

You will serve as the primary point of contact for data protection queries in the business and a point of contact and liaison for the ICO/other EEA Data Protection Authorities on all data protection related matters.

You will be a strong collaborator, working closely with the Training team and Communications team to raise employee awareness of data privacy and security issues through tailored training and communications Group-wide and to specific business functions.

**Qualifications**:

- At least five years experience as a data protection manager is required - ideally within a retail, financial services, or multi disciplined environment
- CIPP/E qualification is desirable
- Strong knowledge of data protection legislation, including GDPR PECR
- Analytical skills and the ability to be flexible regarding nature of work
- Diligent and dependable, approaching work with attention to detail
- Working on own initiative as well as being an effective member of a team
- Thrives in a high-pressure environment with challenging deadlines
- Ability to critically analyse current work methods and suggest and rapidly implement successful change
