Balloo House is a 30 bed residential care home for the frail/elderly over 65s. We are based on the ouskirts of bangor in Groomsport Co.Down.

Balloo is a privately run family run home, we pride ourselves on running a home from home environment for our residents. Balloo is currently seeking care assistants for night duties 8pm-8am or evenings 5pm-9pm both part time and full time positions available.

Duties to include:

- To ensure that all night documentation is completed and signed for;
- Serving tea, coffee, traybakes and cakes for supper.
- Interacting with our residents on a personal level
- Helping our residents with personal support and care,
- Support & encourage residents to maintain their independence with daily living;
- Assisting washing and dressing residents;
- Encouraging independence as much as possible;
- Being aware and participating in the development of resident Care Plans and having full awareness of any specialist support needs.
- Be understanding and patient towards residents and their needs;
- To respect and maintain confidentiality of resident’s personal information at all times.
- Checking and reporting any change in residents conditions to a senior care assistant.
- Keeping a close eye on the residents during the night, hourly checks.
- Support an open, positive and inclusive working culture.

**Requirements**:

- Ability to work as part of a team and individually;
- Strong communication skills;
- Caring nature;
- Flexibility and be able to adapt to the needs of Residents;;
- Ability to communicate well, both written and verbally;
- Ability to organise and prioritise workload under pressure;
- A passionate individual ready to develop and learn new skills in order to progress in your role.
- A flexible and pro-active individual able to work in a team;
- The right to live and work in the UK, **must be over 18 years of age.**

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time
Part-time hours: 24 per week

**Salary**: From £10.50 per hour
